Arizona's Largest Resort Removes Opening Date from Website, Citing Readiness Concerns |
The highly anticipated VAI Resort in Glendale, Arizona, has once again postponed its opening, leaving many to wonder when the state's largest resort will welcome guests.
Initially slated for a 2023 debut, the $1.2 billion project faced delays pushing the opening to 2025. However, recent developments indicate that even this timeline is uncertain.
The resort's official website has removed any mention of an opening date, stating, "We are not ready to provide a specific opening date." This decision underscores the developers' commitment to ensuring a "VAI-worthy guest experience" before announcing a launch.
Further complicating the timeline, the resort's FAQ section mentions that mass hiring will commence up to six months before opening. Currently, the careers page lists no available positions, suggesting that the opening may be further off than anticipated.
In May, Glendale voters were divided on two key ballot measures concerning the resort. Proposition 401, which aimed to allow the construction of office buildings and a parking garage, was rejected.
Conversely, Proposition 402, permitting commercial development on the land, was approved. These mixed outcomes may necessitate redesigns or resubmissions of certain project plans.
Once completed, VAI Resort promises to be a landmark destination, featuring 1,100 rooms across four hotel towers, an 11,000-seat amphitheater, the world's first Mattel Adventure Park, and multiple dining options.
Located near Cardinals Way and 95th Avenue, its proximity to State Farm Stadium positions it as a central hub for entertainment in the region.
As of now, VAI Resort representatives have declined to comment on the current status or projected opening date. |
