PHOENIX — The Arizona Diamondbacks delivered a commanding 10-1 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday, highlighted by historic performances from Eugenio Suarez and Corbin Carroll.

Suarez launched two home runs within the first three innings off Cardinals' starter Sonny Gray, while Carroll recorded two triples in the opening four frames. This marks the first time in franchise history that one player hit multiple home runs and another hit multiple triples in the same game.

Suarez's power surge brings his season total to 33 home runs, placing him third in MLB, just behind Cal Raleigh and Aaron Judge. His 81 RBIs lead the National League. Carroll's two triples increased his league-leading total to 12, as he continues to chase his career high of 14.

Manager Torey Lovullo praised Suarez's performance, stating, "He just doesn’t miss the pitch he is looking for. He’s almost setting up the pitcher, staying one step ahead of what the game plan might be."

On the mound, Ryne Nelson delivered a quality start, allowing just one earned run over six innings. The Diamondbacks' offense was relentless, recording 12 hits in the first four innings and chasing Gray from the game early. Arizona has now outscored St. Louis 17-4 in the first two games of the series.

Looking ahead, the Diamondbacks (49-50) aim to sweep the series and return to a .500 record in Sunday's matchup. Merrill Kelly is set to take the mound for Arizona against St. Louis right-hander Miles Mikolas.

Fans can catch Sunday’s game at 1:10 p.m. MST on 98.7 FM and the Arizona Sports app.
